Dhakuakhana College, Dhakuakhana was established on 25th July, 1966 to cater the needs of higher education of this educationally and economically backward area of the northern part of Assam. Political science department was introduced with honors course in 1972 but due to managerial shorts fall the honours course was lapsed very soon and revived again from the academic session of 1978-79 with only two students. Department of Political Science has produced many graduates with honours and major in last 50 years. Being a dynamic discipline of social science, the department trying hard to expand their activities out of the boundaries of the class room. A departmental wall magazine “Republican” is prepared by the students every year and an E-Journal has been introduced on 10th December, 2021.
Objective:
The main objective of the department is to impart knowledge of Political Science to the students and help them to be familiar with various concepts and theories, political process as well as issues related to the subject.
Vision:
The vision of the department is to uphold human values among the students and uplift socio-political consciousness among them.
